The goal of the project on time dependent stability is to develop the theory of linear stability appropriate for understanding the growth of perturbations in non-autonomous dynamical systems with emphasis on atmospheric applications to predictability and the origin of structures in time dependent flows. The theory is based on analysis of the non-normality of the dynamical operator.
